Top Questions to Ask in Your Next Job Interview
Why Asking Questions in Job Interviews Matters
When you are interviewing for a role, it’s important to remember that you are in fact interviewing each other.
While I’m sure a company may want to ask you questions to see if you are suitable for the role, you should also be asking the company questions to see if you think it will be suitable for you.
In a previous blog post, I wrote 5 Interview Tips to Help You Nail Your Next Job Interview, where I shared some interview questions you could ask a potential employer.
In this post, I’ll share a list of questions that you can ask a potential employer. You may not care about the answers to all of them, so feel free to pick and choose from this smorgĂ„sbord of questions.
Maybe you don’t need this list of questions now, but be sure to bookmark this page for when you do look for another role.
Before diving into this, there are a few things I want you to note first:
- Most of these questions are best directed at the hiring manager, not at the screening stage where a recruiter would be interviewing you.
- These questions are primarily targeted at people working with software testing, but others who work in IT will find that about 90% of the questions below apply to them as well.
- Do your research before the interview. Some of these questions may already show on the job ad page (or somewhere else very obvious).
There is a separate section for questions that you can bring up in the screening stage.
